pub struct Frame {
pub seq: u64,
pub kind: FrameKind,
pub bytes: Bytes,
}Expand description
One numbered frame, already encoded.
The bytes are built once, when the frame is numbered, and the buffer keeps them: a replay is neither a re-encode nor a copy, and two consumers reading the same frame are guaranteed the same bytes.
They are [Bytes] rather than a Vec<u8> because every consumer sending
a frame holds it while the socket write is under way. As a Vec<u8> each
of those is a copy. Cloning Bytes bumps a refcount instead, and axum’s
Message::Binary takes one, so the frame reaches the socket without ever
being copied.
Fields§
§seq: u64Where this frame sits in the stream.
kind: FrameKindWhich message type it carries.
bytes: BytesHeader and body, concatenated, as they go on the wire.
