pub const DEFAULT_MAX_ACCOUNTS: u64 = 1000;Expand description
How many accounts a deployment may hold at once, absent --max-accounts
or a [capacity] section; see AuthState::max_accounts.
plan/capacity.md computes the raw ceiling this has to stay under: two
Route53 record sets per account against the default 10,000-record quota
is five thousand accounts before AWS’s own quota — not this server’s —
refuses a write mid-provisioning. A thousand is well under half of that,
leaving headroom for the zone’s fixed _acme-challenge overhead and for
the time a quota increase takes to land, and it is already generous for
the fleet this project’s own README describes: an agent operator’s own
instance, not a multi-tenant population.
